Installing the app

Bookhead installs onto your Shopify store like any other app from the Shopify App Store. The whole process takes a few minutes.

Before you start​

You'll need:

  • A Shopify store you own or have admin access to
  • The ability to install apps on that store

Install from the Shopify App Store​

  1. Open the Bookhead listing on the Shopify App Store.
  2. Click Add app (or Install).
  3. Shopify shows you the permissions Bookhead needs to create and update products on your store. Review them and click Install app to approve.
  4. You're returned to Bookhead to finish connecting your account.

What happens on first connect​

When the app is installed, Bookhead links to your store and does an initial read of your existing Shopify catalog. This first read is how Bookhead learns what books are already on your store so it can keep them in sync rather than creating duplicates. Depending on the size of your catalog, this can take a little while.

Installing the app does not publish anything new on its own. Products are created and updated only after you bring inventory in from a source — see Choosing your inventory source.
